You Bear God’s Image

When Jesus says, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s” (Mark 12:17), He points beyond taxes to a deeper truth. The coin bears Caesar’s image, so give it to him. But what bears God’s image? You do. Created to reflect His glory, your entire life—every thought, word, and deed—belongs to God.

The Pharisees and Herodians, obsessed with power, miss this. They want a Messiah to rival Rome’s wealth and status, but Jesus offers a kingdom through the cross. Humanity, from Eden to today, has failed to give God what He’s owed: ourselves. The Pharisees’ trap reveals their rebellion, seeking to trap the true Son of God who perfectly images the Father. Yet, Jesus pays our debt, giving His life to redeem sinners.

You’re called to live for God, not worldly gain. Your image-bearing life is His. Trust Christ’s sacrifice and offer yourself fully to Him.

Encouraging Thought: Reflect on Christ’s payment for you. Pray to live each day as God’s image-bearer, glorifying Him in all you do.
